
Bio
Naria serves as Executive Director of the Washington State Opportunity Scholarship (WSOS), a unique public-private partnership helping to build the next generation of scientists, engineers, technology specialists, mathematicians, and health care professionals in Washington state’s high-demand employment fields through scholarships and supports for low- and middle-income college students in Washington state. As Executive Director, Naria is responsible for leadership and management of WSOS including resource development, program design, implementation, evaluation, and program advocacy. Since its inception in 2011, WSOS has provided nearly $38M in scholarships and thousands of hours of support services to 6,000+ scholars – the majority of whom are women, students of color and/or first in their families to go to college. WSOS has raised almost $100M in funds for scholarships and supports and is on track to fund 15,000 students by 2021. Naria is a graduate of the Law School and the College at the University of Chicago. She currently serves on the Boards of Columbia Legal Services and Seattle Goodwill International. Naria is also a member of the Dean’s Visiting Committee for the University of Washington’s College of Engineering and is an appointed member of the State of Washington’s Governor’s STEM Alliance.
