Reshma was born and raised in Saudi Arabia and graduated from Pakistan International School, Riyadh and is the first Pakistani HS graduate to be accepted at Aligarh Muslim University paving way for many others. She is part of the 7000 plus alumni group of AMU grads online and the SJSU grads on linkedIn. She is a global Muslim having roots in the Middle east and Asia. She prides in calling herself a Global Citizen and master networker connecting people of interest worldwide through her various networks. She has over 2000 social media followers and business connections with C level women executives through the leadership roles she holds in the Bay area. She moved to the US in 1990 after obtaining a BSc in Biochem from AMU and obtained a BS in Finance at SJSU and completed CPA coursework at UCSC-EX alongside Ethica Islamic finance coursework. She has been a varsity level basketball and badminton player at her college. ● She is currently a CEO and Co-Founder of MiFam Inc., a technology online publishing company serving families of digital natives since 2014 with over 10,000 members globally. -Reshma is a startup mentor and angel investor in various global initiatives including the US Advisor Investor for Ramadan Legacy, a lifestyle app with over 200,000 users across 90 countries. ● Reshma is also an investor specializing in real estate investments and manages properties in the Bay Area. ● She Chaired the OPEN SV Youth Board since 2012 where she mentors youth for career and academic guidance and designs the Youth track at the Annual OPEN FORUM. ● She leads the communication outreach for SARATOGA CERT a City Emergency Rescue Team for city of Saratoga and is certified in CPR and AED. ● She has an extensive background in Finance with a career in financial services industry as a licensed professional with New York Life Insurance. ● Reshma also served on PTA Executive Board and chaired Synopsis sponsored science fair for 15 years at her local public school till 2014. ● She has founded HIKMA in 2010, the first peer to peer academic and career mentoring for young Muslims recognized by several state schools. ● A co-founder of NISA in 2002, a helpline for family harmony and shelter for DV victims. ● She hosted the first launch event in South Bay for Zaytuna College, an accredited college in Berkeley. ● She was an elected board member and outreach coordinator of WVMA Saratoga mosque in 2011. ● She co-sponsored the Tech museum Islamic Science Exhibit bringing in the whole Bay area muslim organizations together in support of this moving exhibit. ● She hosted and designed the Annual basant mela and kite festival attended by over 3000 ● She presented about Islam at local schools as a speaker at ING. ● She has been chosen as a Saratoga Citizen of the year for July 4th in 2010. ● She was awarded President Obama’s MLK Day drum service award as a board member of Saratoga Mosque in 2011 Reshma is married to her husband Jamal Haider an SV executive and entrepreneur and they are parents of six children ages 26-10. Their oldest daughter is a Graduate of UCSF and has been a presenter and speaker at OPEN Forum on career in health tech topics. The two older sons went to Pakistan for college in Karachi at DIMC and just graduated from medical school this year. Her two high school students are currently youth board members at OPEN. In her spare time, she travels the world and loves gardening and cooking. She plans to write a book on effective parenting for Immigrant parents of American kids in the future.
