
Bio
Dr. Claire Horner-Devine is the founder of Counterspace Consulting, which creates professional development and leadership opportunities grounded in social science research and guided by core values of equity, empathy, growth and curiosity. Dr. Horner-Devine has extensive experience in education, equity and professional development. She received her her Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from Stanford University and her B.A in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Princeton University. She worked as a faculty member in the School of Aquatic and Fishery Sciences and Director of Leadership and Diversity in the College of the Environment at the University of Washington for over a decade. She is co-founder of three NSF- and NIH-funded national programs designed to accelerate and improve the career advancement of early career women and researchers from underrepresented groups in STEM.
