Lina is a facilitator and collaboration designer and makes sure all the Code for Australia programs - Fellowship, Academy, Sand Pit, Tech for Non-Tech - are humming beautifully. As the Chief of Getting Things Done (COO) she makes sure nobody is starting any fires or getting lost in the woods. n 2017, Code for Australia set out to disprove the notion that there aren't enough women in the tech industry because "there aren’t enough women out there to hire". Code for Australia ran an all-female recruitment round and built 3 all-female teams of technologists (designers, software engineers and product managers), in partnership with the Victorian State Government Public Sector Innovation Fund in Australia. These teams went on to improve the experience of disadvantaged people who public housing tenants or in need of public housing; helping offenders complete their Community Correction and Parole Orders; and helping Victorians access information, understand their rights and responsibilities & help them to solve community disputes by themselves instead of going through the civil courts system.
