Dr Safia Barikzai is an Associate Professor in the School of Engineering at London South Bank University. As the Academic Lead for Employability and Engineering Entrepreneurship Educator, Dr Barikzai has been instrumental in delivering targeted employability events for BAME Engineers.

Dr Barikzai is passionate about encouraging more girls to study engineering subjects and is the Creative Director of RoboGals Chapter at LSBU - an initiative to get more girls into STEM through robotics and playful coding. 

She is  UK research lead for InventEUrs, an EU funded project, to foster social inclusion and equity in underprivileged schools (with particular emphasis on newly arrived migrant children) through highly innovative and engaging connected learning experiences..
