Bio
Melissa is an User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) Designer designer for Convo Communications’ technology department. Even though she is remote based, she works with a large team (with over five time zones) creating engaging design deliverables for Convo software for deaf customers worldwide. Coming from a different field of urban planning, she fell in love with the unique different challenges that UI/UX offered allowing a different pace everyday in her job. Her current skill set ranges from design to accessibility compliance to front end development, yet is seeking more skills to advance herself in this field. When she’s not in remote-home office, she is engaged within the deaf community running Deaf Velo Alliance (a bike advocacy group) to CD2BIT (Chicago Deaf/DeafBlind in Tech) group, designing projects for future release websites of DeafChi and Open Signs (open source technical sign database).
