Maureen Dunne has spent her life as a passionate advocate for people with disabilities, particularly persons on the autism spectrum. Over the past decade, she has held a variety of roles within the technology industry: Entrepreneur, mentor, board director and venture capital fund advisor. Maureen is currently working with policymakers, universities, investment funds, corporations and entrepreneurs to help shape a 21st century strategy capable of recasting “the autism problem” in terms that empower and include. She is also a C-Suite Screening Committee Member for Astia, a global network that supports and invests in the most promising technology startups with an inclusive culture, as well as a Founding Board Member for Autism Community Ventures. With Autism Community Ventures, Maureen has been working to bridge the current gaps in communication and understanding between persons on the autism spectrum and employers to help transition adults with autism into meaningful careers within the technology industry. Investing in helping people with autism identify and capitalize on their strengths has also been a deeply personal mission for Maureen: She is a therapeutic foster parent and guardian for children on the autism spectrum.
