Tracy Powell is a technology consultant and Investor , University of Iowa Graduate with a degree in Economics and 27 years of business experience. Tracy invested the first part of his business career in investments working for investment firms such as Merrill lynch and First National Bank of Chicago and American Express. As a real estate developer and investor with over 27years of experience specializing in urban real estate development, Tracy has developed well over 1500 units of affordable , market rate and elderly housing. Tracy has spent a lifetime building and improving underserved communities such as Washington Park ,Bronzeville, Kenwood Oakland and Woodlawn. Tracy served on the first City of Chicago Empowerment Zone Coordinating Committee appointed By Mayor Richard M Daley. In this role he was responsible for the awarding of $100 million in Economic grants to inner city groups and organizations. He currently is a Technology entrepreneur and investor. Tracy founded a Web development and design company Big Web Inc. , is a Senior Advisor of BLUE1647 and Co - Founder of the BlueFund which is a crowdfunding platform who's purpose is to fund businesses and organizations located in underserved communities throughout the country. He also is the managing partner of Blue Lacuna a technology and innovation co working space located in Chicago's Pilsen community. Tracy also served as a member of the the Affordable Housing Advisory council to the FHLB of Chicago.
