Code of Conduct for Virtual Events

All attendees, speakers, sponsors, and volunteers at the Tech Inclusion Global Summit are required to agree with the following code of conduct. Organizers will enforce this code throughout the event. We are expecting cooperation from all participants to help ensure a safe environment for everybody: Be excellent to each other, show empathy, and help make this a safe space to explore tangible, equitable solutions.

Quick Version

Our Summit is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, experience, or religion (or lack thereof). We do not tolerate harassment of Summit participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any Summit venue, including anything communicated during the content of the virtual Summit, on social media or any other online outlets. Summit participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the Summit without a refund at the discretion of the Summit organizers, and appropriate legal action will be taken against violators where applicable.

Less Quick Version

Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other Summit content, and unwelcome sexual attention.

Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately. If a participant engages in harassing behavior, the Summit organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the Summit with no refund.

Sponsors are also subject to the anti-harassment policy. In particular, sponsors should not use sexualized images, activities, or other material in promoting their organization or in communication with participants. Booth staff (including volunteers) should not use sexualized clothing/uniforms/costumes, or otherwise create a sexualized environment.

If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of Tech Inclusion staff immediately. Contact information for the Tech Inclusion team will be shared with all participants prior to the Summit.

Summit staff will be happy to help participants contact local law enforcement or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the Summit. We value your participation.
